Description: Antique Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock With A Painter And Easel To The Top. This beautiful gilt bronze mantel clock has a square case with decorative mounts to the top corners as well as to the bottom of the front. The base then steps out with a wonderful leaf like patterned moulding leading to the fabulously decorative scrolling feet. The top of the case also has a small moulding leading to the seated figure of a painter sat next to here easel with an actual miniature painting sat upon it. The dial is then silvered and set out in black roman numerals with a thin ring to the outside marking the minutes. The dial then has a ribbed bezel and is finished by two beautiful shaped hands. The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It ticks away and comes complete with its pendulum and key. It works via a silk suspension and is stamped by the maker “J. CHARLES. A. PARIS.”. It measures approximately: - 13.5” / 34cm Tall. - 8” / 20.25cm Wide. - 3.75” / 9.5cm Deep.
