The frame is made of a molded, then gilded plaster over an oak base. It is in good condition with some dings and loss of plaster and gilding on the edges as shown in the pictures. The portrait looks to be from the 1850's - 1860's based on the woman's hairstyles and dresses. The pictures is either very dusty or it has faded around the edges (I would be too if I was that old..lol). The glass is in very good condition with some scratches.
