Description: NEW! C.I.S.O. Indigenous Rucksack. Originally made on Okinawa by C.I.S.O. (Counter Insurgency Support Office) Under the direction of Conrad "Ben" Baker. These packs emulated the NVA (PAVN) rucks made in China, though improved by Ben and his local magicians at C.I.S.O. This Reproduction is made using vintage original "Canvak" treated cotton canvas. This is a ten ounce fabric that is treated with a patented waterproofing solution, and becomes a hefty 16oz fabric when finished. Drawstring is an original 100% cotton lace in OD-7 Original tape in 100% Cotton: Tape, Textile, Cotton3/4" Width Type IClass 4, OD-7 Pocket attachment points are executed with original blackened Ladder Lock Buckles in 3/4". Pack shoulder straps are attached with 1" Raised Center Bar buckles for stronger hold. Webbing ends have been "dipped" to prevent fraying. This is accomplished with an epoxy resin today as opposed to the old school tar dipping used during the conflict by riggers in SOG and other places in the SF Community. Originally designed for use by indigenous ARVN and mercenary forces, these became very popular with Special Forces as well as SOG operators in the theater.
