Description: - 1969 - --- FIRST MAN ON THE MOON --- Full Mint, Never Hinged, Sheet of 32 Postage Stamps Scott Catalog #C76 (Stamp Issue Date: September 9th, 1969) These historic stamps were issued to celebrate the first step on the Moon by Apollo 11’s Commander Neil Armstrong on July 20th, 1969. They feature Armstrong as he first stepped onto the Moon’s surface and stated “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”. They are the first “jumbo” commemorative postage stamps to be issued by the U.S. Postal Service and were placed on sale seven weeks after the great event. Please note that the sheet pictured is a stock scan. The sheet you will receive has full, unmarked, selvage (including corners) and undisturbed original gum. It's guaranteed to be just as fresh as when it was purchased in a post office 54 years ago.
