Description: This is a primarily laser cut wood kit to build a freelanced 18' narrow gauge gondola car. This design is based on the general practices of small 2' gauge industrial equipment from the late 1800's, and has a deck width of 6 scale feet (1.5"). These are fairly straightforward kits to build, and will yield a fine hand-built, unique model with many possible applications. Assembly requires several basic modeling tools including a sandpaper, hobby knife, model saw, weights, right angle blocks, etc.Note that the height of the gondola box can be built as a 1,2,3 or 4 board tall design as needed.This is a complete kit that INCLUDES all detailing hardware, trucks with metal wheelsets, and couplers (note that the brake wheel style may vary). Underbody hardware is attached with machine screws threaded into metal inserts, so model assembly, disassembly and maintenance is hassle free. This kit is provided in On30, which runs on HO gauge (16.5mm) track. The as-delivered model can be converted to On2 using a wheel press or similar tool to re-gauge the supplied wheelsets.Note that the example images may show the On2 version of the kit, but are representative of the model other than wheel gauge.This craftsman kit recommended for experienced model builders age 16+.
