Rare 1922 Liberty In God We Trvst Peace One Dollar Silver Coin Collector. From Collectible Coins of America this Peace Dollar is the first American coin commemorating peace as well as the last circulating U.S. silver dollar and comes in a protective display case as shown in photos. Minted from 1921 to 1928 and again in 1934 and 1935. After a nationwide competition, the winning design included a broken sword, which to some signified defeat. The U.S. Mint acted quickly to have the sword removed. The 1922 silver dollar is one of the most iconic coins in American history. It’s also one of the most controversial, thanks to the misspelled motto. “In God We Trvst” was supposed to be spelled “In God We Trust,” but a mistake during production led to the coin being minted with the incorrect spelling.
