Description: Bert nice copy of the original 1960 first pressing of Red Garland's Soul Junction LP on Prestige mono 7181. Features an incredible John Coltrane, and also Donald Byrd. Original Bergenfield address deep groove pressing with Rudy Van Gelder's initials stamped in the runoffs. The disc has some scuffs and light hairlines, but it really plays beautifully. Side one is more like VG+ with only a few scuffs, and it plays without the slightest tick; only very light crackle between tracks. Side two has more visible light marks, but it plays the same, except on the first track, Birk's Works, which has some crackle and pops during the piano solo, though it doesn't ruin the listen. It only lasts a short while and is over by the time Coltrane comes in. Other than that it plays with barely any noise at all. Really a nice playing copy. Unbelievable sound on the original pressing, too. And the cover is very nearly pristine, with only a touch of staining on the back, and very light edgewear at the right opening. No seam splits or dinged corners at all. Truly a beautiful, shiny, crisp cover. This is a lovely original copy.
