Description: Wonderful piece of Christmas music history in this 1955 edition of Sing for Christmas by Opal Wheeler, originally printed in 1943. It includes 24 stories behind some of our most-loved Christmas carols, along with music for 29 Christmas carol favorites. The book shows use and wear as evidenced by its somewhat "dirty" or "stained" front and back covers and dog-eared corners. The binding is tight and complete -- no loose pages. There is an inscription on the front inside cover "Penn School, Jan. 1959." In flipping through the book, I found handwriting on Page 122 where (perhaps a music teacher) had written notes about a few songs. There are rusty paper clip marks on a few pages where additional notes apparently had been attached. The book is in solid condition other than esthetic issues noted.
