THE ABYSS Movie Props Alien Heads Skulls James Cameron SCREEN USED Sci-if Prop

Description: Here we have something you’ll see every day. This is a group of screen used alien heads (N.T.I.) from James Cameron’s “THE ABYSS” (1989) . this lot is very special. It contains 1 verified (possibly 2) HERO alien heads used in the scenes where Bud Brigman (Ed Harris) interacts with. One of the aliens he first meets when he hits the seafloor, then one back at under water base. Be sure to check out all the pictures . One of the Head’s was used twice it seems. You can see the props in action in the last few pictures (be sure to look at them all) These heads or displayed in a custom LED lighted shadow box. The lights slowly change color giving off an eerie glow. Each piece is made of translucent plastic with iridescent film coating. A total of eight different aliens were designed for the film. Had pieces come from three different designs are included in this lot ( including the hero prop previously mentioned). The aliens were designed and supervised by special effects. Artist Steve Johnson. These models were then submerged in a water tank with overhead rigging so the puppeteers could maneuver the aliens for filming. It took about 40 puppeteers to operate all eight NTI‘s in the tank at the same time. Hoyt Yeatman, Dennis Muren, Dennis Skotak, and John Bruno would receive an Academy award for best visual effects in 1990 for their work on the abyss. The entire display is 12.5 x 5 x 5. In and 2.6 in deep. These props are purchased from a very well-known auction house. I will include documentation of this sale to the buyer. I will also include a shop COA on top of that which guarantees its authenticity for the lifetime of the item. Free returns at any time. If they’re ever found to be less than authentic. I’m going to have a very hard time getting rid of this one.. it is ready to hang on the wall. Just need a nail and you are set. The heads are currently not secured to the box.
