Description: Vintage Omega Cal.2892-2 Automatic 18K Gold Dress watch with Solid 18K Bracelet Out of my own collection comes this: All-original example of a classic, mid to late 1980s Omega Automatic men’s Dress watch. Large size 35mm, 18ct yellow gold case in excellent conditions.The case is housing a high grade, 21 Jewel automatic movement which runs at 28,800 beats per hour which is much faster than typical high quality Swiss movements, which run at 18,000 beats per hour – hence it is known as a fast beat movement. All other things being equal, the faster a watch movement beats, and the balance wheel operates, the more accurate its timekeeping since the movement effectively divides time into smaller increments.The movement is engraved ‘Omega 1110’ ‘Swiss’, ‘twenty-one’, ‘21 Jewels’ and the Caliber number 2892-2.The movement has a 42-hour power reserve when fully wound. The dial is of “two-tone” gold finish with gold roman numeral hour indices and Onyx inlaid hands. The “two-tone” dial reflexes the light different depending on the angle it falls on it. Therefore, the center part of the dial sometimes appears slightly lighter or reverses to make the outer ring shine lighter. I have added some photos to make it visible. The 18ct yellow gold watch case measures 35mm, excluding the correct original yellow gold Omega signed crown. The case-back carries the ‘Maison Fondee En 1848’ motif.The inside of the case is correctly signed ‘Omega Watch Co’ and ’18K/750’ with, what looks like, a Serial number. The watch is attached to a solid 18K Yellow gold (White gold for the closure parts of the inside buckle) bracelet and is about 175mm long. Together with the watch case size of 35mm it fits a 7 ½ to 8+ inch wrist comfortable.The Bracelet has the Omega sign closure and is stamped to the inside with the Omega sign and “750” for the gold content. The total weight of the watch with the bracelet is 122 gram (4.33 oz) This is a beautiful example of a vintage top of the line Omega automatic dress watch with a large-sized 18ct yellow gold case and 18ct Bracelet. The movement is of a very high grade and on a par with watches far more expensive than this.Indeed, when new, this watch would have cost more than the equivalent Rolex. I have worn this watch only on very few occasions and can honestly state that the watch and bracelet are in excellent conditions with only very light signs of wear. I do not have the original case or paperwork. I guarantee the authenticity of the watch as I bought it myself years and years ago for my own collection, which I'm now dissolving.
