It's late or post war construction, but dates from 1902 to 1922 based on the use of gold stars in lieu of white ones, which were implemented after 1922. Finding these early Aide de camp insignia from this early period in good condition is tough. Finding one for a 4 star General is nearly impossible. I have seen none nicer in all my years.
